Chisholm Trail Australian Shepherds

Chisholm Trail Australian Shepherds HAS MOVED!!  We have relocated to my home state of Missouri, but we decided to keep our name.  "Chisholm Trail" reminds us of my husband's Okie heritage.  We are still raising Aussie pups because we want other families to experience how fun, smart, loyal, and beautiful this breed is! I have worked hard to locate dogs that have reputable pedigrees and healthy genetic histories.  I have noticed recently, that if a person is wanting to purchase a puppy, prices have started sky-rocketing.  Now, as a breeder, I understand perfectly the costs that go into raising quality puppies, however, it is my belief that everyone should have access to good, sound foundation Australian Shepherds.  This is why I try to keep the prices on my puppies low.  Occasionally, I may have a puppy priced above $700,  but rarely.  

We have great Aussies, and are impressed by their individual personalities and temperaments. The Australian Shepherd is typically a high-energy dog, so it's important that you are able to provide exercise for them. If not, an Aussie may become bored and in turn could develop bad habits such as chewing on furniture. It's a good idea for them to be given opportunities to "work". For example, jobs for Aussies can range from retrieving your newspaper every morning to helping round up the cattle.  Because the Aussie is a member of the herding/working group, they are extremely willing to please their owners. An Aussie is very easy to train, whether it be for obedience, herding, agility, or whatever else you ask them to do. They are great listeners!
